Give me a title and I will write you a song! Facebook friend and wonderful poet James Keeley offered me some beautiful poems of his own, incase I felt inspired to turn one into a song. This is ‘Paperplane’ an original poem written by James titled ‘Paper Aeroplane’ to which I slightly altered and added a few lines and gave it a little more structure to make it into a song. Still working progress but what do you think so far?

Paper Plane

You took a piece of paper,
Folding it how you liked,
Making all the creases
that will never ever, iron out,

(cause you are)
Picking me up,
Throwing me away,
Picking me up,
with nothing to say
Picking me up,
Throwing me away, But I learned how to fly,
learned how to fly
away…

I nearly hit the bottom,
so confused with who I was
you enjoyed to see me weak
made you in control

(cause you are)
Picking me up,
Throwing me away,
Picking me up,
with nothing to say
Picking me up,
Throwing me away, But I learned how to fly,
learned how to fly

away, and time has moved on without you
So strange to see you again,
no feelings remain, no I am no longer
I’m no longer your paper plane

I also leave you here the original poem titled ‘Paper Aeroplane’ by the gifted James Keeley so you can see how I’ve adapted his words to create the song you hear;

You took a blank piece of paper,
Folding it how you liked,
Making creases that will never iron out,
Picking me up,
Throwing me away,
I nearly hit the bottom,
But I learned how to fly,
And Time has flown,
So strange to see you again,
No feelings remain,
I am no longer your paper aeroplane
